Forever Friend

I came across this quote while I was looking for something for my last blog entry. I decided that since this one really touched my heart, it needed to be set apart from the rest. So, here it is:

"Sometimes in life, you find a special friend. Someone who changes your life just by being apart of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop. Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is forever friendship. When you're down and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirit and makes the dark and empty world suddenly seem bright and full. Your forever friend gets you thru the hard times, the sad times, and the confused times. If you turn and walk away, your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on. Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be ok. And if you find such a friend, you feel happy and complete because you need not worry. You have a forever friend, and forever has no end. "--Unknown

I think the reason that this touches my heart so much is because I am so lucky to have multiple forever friends. I have some of the best friends in the world. Mark, for example, is more than just a husband--he is my best friend. I know that what we have is precious.

I also have forever friends in my family. They are there for me thru everything that I face. They are not just there physically, but they are there emotionally too...constantly praying for us. I think this is what makes my family so special.

Then, I have forever friends in my close group of girl-friends...some of which I have had since high school. I have the kind of friends that when they find out that you are going thru something horrible, they get in their car and come to wherever you are--no matter what they have going on. They are also there to celebrate during the good times.

Some people are there for the good times...and missing in action for the bad ones. I just try to hold the true ones close to my heart. I can't even imagine my life without any of these forever friends...they are more precious than gold, and I feel mighty lucky to have them in my life.
